Pumpkins Gone Wild

I was looking out my bathroom window this afternoon and imagine my surprise to see these two little cuties out there.
I went outside to take a closer look.
Why, Hello there Cutie. Aren’t you just the cutest little pumpkin? Socutesocutesocute.
If it’s on my side of the fence, it’s mine, right? I mean, it’s not like my neighbor actually planted these pumpkins. This is an area between the fence and behind their shed where they pitch all their yard waste. In fact, they told us we could throw our stuff back there, too.
Here’s the funny part. I was hoping to get two pumpkins, but upon closer examination, I realized that wasn’t going to be the case. This little sweetie is staying right where she is:
It’s good and stuck. So, the burning question is, If a pumpkin grows in the wild and is on/over your property, can you take it and claim it as your own? I mean, I’ve got some ca-ute ideas for this little Sweetie. Does cuteness trump the law, or politeness? I’ll have to think on that and get back to you.
Let the record reflect that this pumpkin wants to come home with me.
For now, they’re staying where they are. But a midnight raid may or may not be in my future.
